This morning i slept in longer than i had intended, but woke up feeling better rested than i had during my first few days in Berlin. However, I had already made plans to go out in the morning with my friends, which meant i had 20 minutes to scramble and get ready for my day. I met up with Mira and Natalie in the lobby and we made our way to the Berlin Pride Festival. We got there an hour after the event had been advertised to be open, but there were still tents being put up when we got there, so walked around all the booths that were up and decided to venture back at a later time.

Then we made our way to the Rittersport store, which was chocolate heaven. I have never seen so many flavors of chocolate in my life, and they even had lactose and gluten free chocolate! Rittersport is approximately $4 in the US, but in Germany Rittersport is less than one euro. That being said i managed to leave the store with only 12 euros worth of chocolate (including tax)! The coolest part? They have a station where you can make your own chocolate! they have a variety of candies, dried fruites, nuts, anything you might want in chocolate, and you get to choose what goes in it. I may have to go back and try that out before I leave Germany.

Next we went to Museum Island, which is an area in Berlin that has the five major museums in Berlin, we didn't go inside any of them today, but we walked around all of them to get an idea of which ones we would like to come back to. The statues around these museums are incredible, i can hardly image what the artwork and artifacts inside will look like.

After museum Island we went back to the Hostel so that we could rest and attempt to get some work done. I'm not sure about Mira or Natalie, but in the hour we were at the hostel i only managed to activate my german phone. But we were incredibly hungry, so we departed to go back to the pride festival. Once there we got brotwurst and a drink and sat and talked and listened to all of the festivities. I'm very glad we had gone earlier in the day becuase there were so many people at the festival that we could hardly move around and we wouldn't have been able to see all of the festival if we had only gone in the evening.

I am so glad that i brought tennis shoes with me to Germany, with all this adventuring I have done so much walking and i'm sure my feet would be so incredibly sore if i hadn't been wearing them!
